Our grooming team plans to smooth out 26 trails overnight, giving us around 8.5 miles of soft corduroy to carve up in the morning. The Mount Mansfield Summit Stake was still indicating 38 inches of natural depth at last observation. Snow surfaces should be soft but could also be a bit slow/sticky as the snowpack continues to warm up. Our base depths range from 15 - 30 inches with wet and variable snow conditions expected tomorrow. Our trail count tomorrow will likely be a fluid situation and the Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol may close down natural snow trails tomorrow to preserve the snowpack while temperatures hold above freezing. We finished today with 67 trails open, totaling 290 acres of top to bottom skiing and riding on Vermont’s highest peak. Wind permitting, there are 5 uphill lifts scheduled tomorrow, along with the Over Easy Transfer Gondola. Ridgetop gusts to 70 miles per hour are possible in the morning and winds of those speeds can affect our lift operations. Summit level winds will be strong out of the southwest at speeds of 35 – 55 miles per hour. High temperatures look to be in the lower 40s at all elevations.
